Published in 1983, the magazine continues with high value production, design and photography, there is no rival. Other producers, Milton’s Private magazine, for instance produced magazines of a similar quality, but focused on vanilla sex in exotic locations. At the beginning of Sex Bizarre there was a ‘Wanted’ ad, asking for models, so clearly there was some kind of recruiting drive going on. We do not know how many women sent their photos in the hope of ‘starring’ in their magazines, particularly one specialising in pissing.

 

Could the model posing in ‘Sybille’s Thing’, be one of those lucky hopefuls who applied through the advert? We can only speculate. She appears on the cover, and exemplifies the natural looks that we have come to expect from the magazine. Of the three women featured, the woman in the blue dress - on the left in the opening title picture - was my favorite. She still is. I absolutely agree with what you have said about then and now...of course morbidly thinking, how many of them are alive? The notion that they retired or simply gave up after earning enough money, did they marry, have children, have 'respectable' careers. It would be interesting to guage the global reach of the magazine, how they were distributed and sold, it would also be a measure of how widespread the fetish is. A reasonable person looking at the image would think that the persons or animals were real.

Expert evidence is not likely to be admissible to demonstrate whether an image is pornographic or not. This is a matter for the magistrates’ court or jury assessing the image. The intention of the defendant or their sexual arousal is not relevant either.

"Grossly offensive" are ordinary English words: Connolly v DPP [2007] 1 ALL ER 1012. "Obscene" has an ordinary meaning ("repulsive", "filthy", "loathsome" or "lewd"), distinct from that provided for by the statutory terms of the Obscene Publications Act 1959: Anderson [1972] 1 QB 304.

The portrayal must be explicit and realistic, and thus artistic representations, even if deemed pornographic and obscene, are unlikely to be caught.

That seems to rule out piss porn as a current target for prosecution but the terminology is typically vague. E.g.  "A reasonable person looking at the image ..." (What constitutes 'a reasonable person'? etc.) Still, the legislation seems to be aimed at bestiality and violence rather than piss play. 

I'm reminded of the Anti-Sex league in Orwell's 1984, whose members work at producing supposedly clandestine pornographic material to keep its users in constant fear of arrest, thus deflecting their attention from the true nature of the Big Brother society.

^^^   I have to say I was a bit worried the first time I read through that.

But thank goodness for the 'and' at the end of the first and particularly the second clauses.   A significant part of my job is interpreting requirements, and they are always fraught with the risk of misunderstanding:    The first line is clear enough 'produced solely for the purpose of...'  but the second line less so...   Does it mean grossly offensive, or just disgusting.   My wife for example would consider any show of genitals as disgusting especially if they were peeing.  So thank goodness for the 'and' statement which then leads onto the rest of the things which of course we don't (here) subscribe to.

That cover picture on Sex Bizarre 35 is familiar to me from the Amsterdam sex shops but this issue never appealed to me enough to make me open it. I think the woman's bonnet is what puts me off, though I notice that she swaps it for a red headscarf later in the set. Yes, it would be nice to think that this couple were genuine enthusiasts, who really got off on playing out their own - to me - rather strange take on the fetish. But we'll never know, of course.

In restrospect the woman in 'Thirsty Lady' does look uncomfortable, not least having to taste urine. It is her second appearance in Sex Bizarre, her 'debut' is in Issue 31, where, again she looks reticent when the gardener pees on her. I'm guessing that she initially consented to the acts depicted in both stories, but may have been lulled into a false sense of security. In the magazines and films, I have observed the facial expressions on men and women when being pissed on and over, it's a good way of assessing the taste and smell of the experience, we are only engaged by sight.

Sex Bizarre Thirty Six

 

Released in 1984, the first story is a return to the taboo that we shall not discuss here. Although, I would like to draw attention to the fact that materials like rubber, leather, PVC and Nylon are often associated with urolagnia. Also, it is a solo display from a regular Color Climax model, often seen clad in the aforementioned attire. I have never visited Copenhagen, but was recently on a short break in Amsterdam with a group of students. A member of staff said that the layout of the city and the architecture is not dissimilar. Three young women and a male friend are sunbathing and drinking in the park, a scene played out across the globe as the seasons change and clothing is shed. The three young women take off their tops and expose their breasts to the heat of the midday sun, there are people in the background, totally unaware that Color Climax photographers are creating the initial scenes for the story that develops back in the studios.

 

In the apartment we are given the impression that the combination of the sun and the wine have loosened all inhibitions. They fondle and caress, removing one item of clothing after another, it’s the first time that I have seen one of the females with tattoos, albeit very subtle by todays standards. Those readers who are into hirsute women will not be disappointed. The girl with the tattoos breaks the ice in terms of peeing, straddling the young male and peeing directly into his mouth. The camera captures the expression on his face as he is forced into tasting her bitter urine. For some reason, unexplained the peeing girl bids farewell to the group whilst the other two immerse themselves in a pee orgy. There’s an excellent series of shots of the women taking piss directly into their mouths, both of them very attractive. Once again the model contact, ‘Jytte Jacobsen’ has found beautiful females and handsome guys to pose for these extreme stories. The magazine is still advertising for models on the first page, so it is still unsure how the recruitment took place, we can only speculate.

 

In the third story, ‘Bathroom Fun’, we see the return of ‘Sybille’, who made her debut in Sex Bizarre 34. Again a woman with considerable sexual allure with beautiful natural breasts. There’s an opening scene of a guy who has the hairstyle of a 1980’s footballer, complete with Mullet! Sybille intrudes on his ablutions, wearing the type of seductive lingerie that you could by in shops like Ann Summers. She straddles the toilet seat and inserts a shampoo bottle into her vagina, he opens his bathrobe to reveal a big rigid penis, they suck and fuck on the loo seat, before Sybille takes a pee through her crotchless fish-net tights. He masturbates over her face, before peeing into her mouth in the conclusion of the story. For me Sybille’s two appearances in the magazine is one of the highlights of the 1980’s issues.

I don't remember seeing Sex Bizarre 36 but I clearly missed something. I love that cover picture, with the woman opening her mouth so willingly to receive the piss stream. 

Pen Pal Pee

As with all my favourite Sex Bizarre sets, the girls here are very pretty and seem to be having fun. There's the sense of innocence I associate with a lot of examples of early porn, from the liberated later 1960s onwards. The topless sunbathing pictures in the park encapsulate that spirit. I especially like the pictures from a little later, where the short-haired woman is touching the tattooed woman's cunt through her knickers while the other man is fondling the third woman. For me, the woman who's having her knickers touched has an excitingly intelligent face. Her gaze in the lower picture,  where the man has pulled his partner's knickers down to expose her hairy mons, is very exciting for me. As is the exposed hairy mons itself, of course.
