Cam362436 1
Let's face it, it wasn't juts about porn .... It was showing off the aspects of this kink that were unique to you. It was a way of expressing and creating statements based on the shared media of those who think alike. We need something like that back again. Not just another shitty porn site with models. 1 Quote Link to post
Cuckoo42 1,264
unfortunately those in control of the ISP's are dictating terms and conditions. Unfortunately owing to unpleasant material being circulated they're trying to censor and police the entire internet. There's a lot of political pressure about- not that it's making much difference, just means that you have to create accounts and identify yourself everywhere you go. Quote Link to post
ForgotPass 36
I miss releaseitinpublic a lot. Whoever ran the blog had very similar tastes to my own, so it was always a great source. The loss of porn doesn't really bother me, it's the increasing restriction on free expression online that does, like what you said. Nowadays it feels like you're only free to express yourself in any way that won't spook the shareholders. Quote Link to post
wetwulf 3,183
I'm just going to say it: some of the same politicians and people who are trying to censor and police the internet are also the ones diddling kids. Quote Link to post

oliver2 3,893
Well, on this very site we have a wide variety of porn, and also people slinging wild allegations at their political opponents, so all we need is some sick memes and I’d say we were much of the way towards recreating tumblr 2 Quote Link to post
gldenwetgoose 20,207
Ha ha @oliver2 - think you're about right, but no politics please - there's enough of that muppet show in real life everywhere we turn. I agree on the tragic loss that is Tumblr - there were so many great artists used it for their NSFW art - Sabrina Dacos as my favourite example, but many more too. Not just the self publishing artists like her either, but as already said those that went to the time and effort in posting collections of themed pictures too. From a censorship point, I'm all in favour of grossly indecent content - paedophilia, violence and abuse, racism, sexism etc being weeded out and off the internet. In terms of Tumblr though it's just such a shame that all of the adult art got thrown into the same bucket without any consideration. There's things we find gross and things we wouldn't want our kids to see, that can't be denied and by definition a lot of people would consider pee as one of those. Such a shame though that (a) everything adult was just lumped together for censorship and (b) there was no opportunity for just restricting access to allow consenting adults to continue. 1 1 Quote Link to post

That's where lawyers take much of the blame. The legal attacks on services with mixed content because a child managed to get through the barriers around the adult zone became a huge financial risk. To appease the lawyers, and the lawmakers that follow immediately after, adults making a free choice got kicked off. The result is fewer providers for desired content, which the hackers can go after. We all saw the panic when Adult Friend Finder got hacked. Thousands of people with dodgy habits fearing for their reputation. But it's just sicko's on those sites so who cares? Today, we almost have to give detailed directions to our houses before we get access to adult content. That just makes it easier for them to "round up the pervs" if they ever ban the content ... Or name and shame if the hackers get in first. Finding interesting things to watch, read, share online isn't as simple as it used to be. Or maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy, like my coworkers tell me. 🙃 2 Quote Link to post

It was planned this way from the start. Bigotry is very ambitious. The whole idea was to tar everyone with the same brush, so that anyone who enjoys any kind of erotic art is considered equal to a rapist-murderer. 2 Quote Link to post
