What's Your Favourite TV Series?

Recommended Posts

If you had to pick just one television show as your absolute favourite, what would it be? Of course, it could be a show that has now ended, or a programme still running.

Certainly during childhood my favourite TV series was the original Star Trek.

In adulthood it is much harder to say. I suppose in terms of how long it ran and how regularly I watched it I would have to say The Bill, a police drama series that was on British TV screens for well over two decades. Yet there have been much shorter and/or more intermittent series which I know I enjoyed more. If I really had to pick one I think I would have to go for Spooks, the British M15 drama series.

That's 4! :p Although I agree it's very hard to say; I'm struggling to pick mine, although I think Breaking Bad would have to be up there.

True , in selecting just one TV Series . Because they fit into different categories in which they were made . I also wanted to add along with The X - Files the series of Star Trek too. Since I was a fan from the very begining . It might have been better to have it as a mulitiple choice . Other than just having to pick just one .

Just my opinion , it's still a Good Question ...............................

Doctor Who. I got into the Classic series at the age of four and stayed with it till the New Who came along and I'll probably stick around to see what happens next but the classic ones are always the first choice if I wanna 'escape' and get comfy and watch a DVD.

I couldn't rank them by preference, so I've put them in chronological order (more or less).

Perry Mason (the original series)

Doctor in the House (Britcom)

Man from Uncle

Star Trek (all)

Dick van Dyke

Monty Python

Get Smart

Mary Tyler Moore

Kung Fu

Friends (at least the first few years)

Married With Children

Blackadder

X-Files

Deadwood

House

Pinky and the Brain

Doc Martin

House of Cards

Sherlock (the Cummerbatch version)

New Tricks (English police show)

Big Bang Theory

Blacklist

Flash

Two short - I'll probably think of them after I go to bed :-)

Even though it finished a while ago now, F.R.I.E.N.D.S is one of the few shows I will happily re-watch if it's on television despite knowing it so well. I think Comedy Central pretty much just shows it all day really.

I'm currently watching Californication - a funny sex-filled show that I'd recommend for anyone looking for something new to watch.

Game of Thrones is of course one of the most popular series, and rightly so in my opinion.

My problem is that I find it very hard to narrow it down since I've seen a lot of great shows. I may attempt a long list like the ones above so I don't leave out too many.

3 main ones have my attention:

Outlander

Sense8 (Netflix)

Orange is the New Black (Netflix)

Girls watch a few things too, Home and Away has them hooked, I don't really know what else.

Most of my favorites are long gone, and only available in reruns.

M*A*S*H (Who can tell me the name of the theme song?)

Homicide, Life on the Street

America's Most Wanted

The Jackie Gleason Show / Honeymooners (To the moon Alice!)

Early versions of The Simpsons

Married with Children

Cops

Currently I often watch Jeopardy, because of the challenge of playing along

I believe the theme song to M.A.S.H. is titled '' Suicide Is Painless " from the original movie of M.A.S.H.

I also enjoyed watching Jeopardy asit's informative

You are correct Kevin,

Now for the hard question

On Homicide, Life on the Street, where did the last names of the detectives come from? They all had something in common.

E.G. Walrus ,

That's a very hard question You gave me to answer so you got me there , as I have never watched that series on TV before .

May I know the answer to that .

The last names of all the detectives were actually names of streets in Baltimore, where the series was set and filmed
