Coronavirus and public peeing?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering if after this Coronavirus and even as we come out of it, the cases of public peeing will go up, and hopefully pics and videos of it with people caught out.

Here in the UK most public toilets are locked due to the virus but parks etc are opening up, that has to mean lots of people are peeing outside as there is no alternative. even when the toilets do open up again people will have gotten used to peeing outside and also find it cleaner as they don't have to touch anything in a public loo. Lets hope this leads to a freer peeing society 🙂

What do you think?

I think you might be a bit too optimistic here😅

Now, don't get me wrong I'd looove if everyone would get more open towards peeing in public but unfortunately I'm also a realist and I highly doubt that in the next bunch of weeks people will start getting used to peeing outside, maybe two or thre people might but for the majority it's not a pleasant thing to do, especially if you live in a city with lots of exposure and people. Maybe it could happen on the countryside, in more remote places with large, less crowded spaces. Maybe there a little increase of public peeing "cases" could happen, but probably not enough to cause a significant change, even though, as I said, I wouldn't mind it at all.

It’s more pleasant than a public toilet, arguably, and certainly more convenient - even if you’re not into it, much of what puts people off is the taboo, and it stops being a taboo if many people stop treating it as one. Since hanging out at parks without actually exercising was re-allowed, I’ve been doing that - and there are a lot of people popping in and out of bushes.

Thirty odd years ago, there was a (sadly) brief trend towards topless sunbathing in Britain, doubtless imported from continental Europe, which seems to have faded away since, perhaps because of ubiquitous pervs with cameras, perhaps because of ubiquitous pornographic imagery, but it was a thing, and I think this might be.

Maybe I picked the wrong word to get my point across. Instead of "unpleasant" I'd rather say awkward and intimidating since I think most people don't have the courage to do their business outdoors with the high risk of being caught ... and I'm sure for a lot of people see public peeing as uneducated or gross thus making them refuse the idea of peeing outdoors

There are a lot of people who won’t pee out of doors if there’s a handy toilet available, but if they’re doing something outdoors like going to the beach or sunbathing at the park, they’ll do what they have to. From what I’ve seen recently that’s... a lot of people.

There was a discussion recently on a local social media site about whether any public toilets were open, with two replies in quick succession along lines of “you’ll just have to go in the bushes”, along with one about how the bushes may end up smelly with everyone pissing there. So there is some concern that it’s gross, especially in an area with lots of people.

I’ve occasionally heard of or seen it suggested that peeing outdoors is low class or uneducated (“that’s a public pool, everyone will be pissing in it”; “this chav peeing in the car park with his wife and kid watching from the car”)
