Age Verification

Hello Members, You may have/have not read about the new regulations that are being introduced here in the UK in a month or so time. This regulation is designed to stop young people from accessing pornography on the internet. Basically you will have to prove that you are twenty one years of age if you want to access 'commercial' porn sites. I have two daughters, both of them over 18 who have viewed pornography on-line and have stated that any age verification will not work, as there are always loop-holes and they have downloaded music and films without paying for them. Personally I think that more education is needed in schools so that they can understand porn, and realise that much of it is an unreal portrayal of what sex can be about. I think we have to take it for granted that most young people will access it at some point. Censorship and regulatory policies do not work, it merely drives the problem underground and into the dark recesses of the internet. I value sites like this, appealing to a niche audience with specific interests, forums in which individuals can express fantasies without having to prove their age. I hope that this new move by the UK Government, (We are already known as the Nanny State!) will not close down this site, and other's like Eroprofile, This Vid, Porn Hub, XHamster, and numerous others in which you can find posts of videos that are often made by genuine amateurs, adults with mature, responsible attitudes to sexuality and all of the strangeness that surrounds it.

Totally agree with you

Greedyneedy said it well with the need for more education and LESS censorship from the goverment. Banning anything doesn't solve the problem

The short answer is: you will have to verify your age once, and then will have access to this site and most other porn sites. So Peefans should be fine.

The worry though - is some pee website owners may not know about this or know what to do, and as a result do nothing, meaning their site gets blocked in the UK.

This pisses me off we have natural urges if a guy or girl dosen't get laid then they will get sexual release from porn why should we take that away? Porn makes people happy and yes there is porn addicts but instead of "punishing" everyone get rehab programs for them and banning something will only make people want it more and all of a sudden porn has become a bigger deal then it already is i say make sure teens are tought that porn is not "real" it's just actors or homemade acting the gouverment is there to help people not take things away from them

If verification involves giving a credit card, driver's license, or other personal info, you can color me (and many others) gone. Just sayin'.

That means being gone from ALL porn sites though. This is a law affecting any site with pornographic content. 

However, just to reiterate what I said in that thread:

• There will be no database or personal data stored. You can anonymously purchase a one-time code from one of thousands of shops across the country, which would provide lifetime access to all major porn sites including peefans.
• I do not WANT to implement this system - in fact I am very against it. But the alternative is peefans closing down or being blocked completely. We are being forced to, not choosing to.
• I agree VPNs are a very good alternative to getting one of these passes - that's also discussed in the above thread.

I am sorry we have to introduce this but the system is not as bad as feared and there are ways around it, so I think it will be ok.
