This just happened to me and whilst I had no problem with it, it did seem slightly strange. So, to set the scene, I work from home in an office in the upstairs of our house. My wife runs a business and she has a secretary who works part time in an office downstairs in our house. I haven't had that much experience of camping in recent years other than a couple of trips with the kayaking club. I didn't spot any girls peeing by their tents, but in the morning I did find that there was an area just through a gap in the hedge where the path led down to the river. I believe I was thinking on the same lines as @oliver2 here - that maybe the girl said "I got out of my tent to go to the portaloo", meaning that she literally just got outside her tent to go to pee in the grass, but she said portaloo to be more politically correct. When someone asked her why she didn't go just outside she didn't react because maybe that is exactly what she had done. If she was drunk enough not to put her boots on, then I'm sure she was probably drunk enough to not waste time/effort stumbling across the field to the portaloos. I guess we'll never know for sure though.

I am glad to be of service. There are definitely a huge variety of ways that girls pee outside. The variety of clothing is the first factor, with some hitching up short skirts and others having to lower their trousers or jeans. Yes definitely from my point of view, but my wife would not go for it. I would want a bed, a sofa and an absorbent carpet as a minimum. I would also like a wet room with hard surfaces and a drain in the middle, so you could do whatever you want and then just hose it down.

I am with you on that. I often wish my bed had a hole in it for this purpose, but I have an expensive king size mattress which I am not going to ruin. My wife would not exactly appreciate it either. I often think it would be a good bed design to have a hole in he mattress with piping leading to drains or outside so you wouldn’t have to get out of bed to pee, but it would be very satisfying to pee right into the mattress itself and just let it be absorbed. I did add my own fluid - I should probably keep details for the men peeing section, but as a brief outline, I had consumed a flask mug of tea on the journey there, and drank two litres of water whilst walking around. Yes, the worst is that once in a while I have the situation where I get a split stream, possibly due to a stray hair on the end or the eye being a bit stuck together. If that happens, all bets are off because usually the two streams go in completely different directions and then it is either a case of deciding which one goes in the toilet and which one washes the floor, or trying to stop it and check the apparatus before continuing. Usually by this point there is some on the floor anyway!

On Sunday I heard about this from my wife's perspective. We we were sitting at a view point and had been for a while. We had both consumed a hotel breakfast including several drinks (mine was 2 mugs of tea, two glasses of water and an apple juice - my wife's consumption was about the same). Sounds like a great experience. I have mentioned to my wife that I'd like to see her try and pee in a urinal sometime and she didn't completely baulk at the idea, so I think maybe we need to do something like this to get her to experiment with anatomy and aim before graduating to the urinal.
